You alone are capable of giving the whole of India some hopes of clinching a medal in the Beijing Olympics.
Give a repeat of your all time best at Doha four years ago or better it before hanging up boots. I know it too well that it is going to be a tough battle at hand but nothing is impossible if one has the right grit, will, mindset and determination, of course backed by divine grace (which I honestly feel you have in plenty). Don't get discouraged by what others (some elder Indian woman athletes) say or comment.
Remember Ulrike Myforth of Germany was 32 plus when she picked up a gold in high jump in 1984. That too after 16 years of her maiden attempt at Olympics. Anju.. you can still do it. Remember, it was in an August that you gave India its first and only medal at World Athletics in 2003. Another August has come and make us all feel proud of U.
Bobby... help your better half give India an Olympic medal.

| I keep my links with Indian athletics only because of the presence of those like U and highjumper Hari Shankar Rai.
There's no doubt as to who the greatest Indian woman athlete has been. It is Anju Bobby George and no one else. Simply because, U have produced the kind of results that no other Indian athlete has produced to my memory.
I have no qualms to say that what u said on Manorama channel nterview on Usha is absolutely right. She could never be called a world class athlete. Those following sport closely would acknowledge that she could manage a fourth place at LA only because of the Eastern Block boycott. We realised the real strength of Usha in the succeeding Games in Seoul (1988) where she came a cropper, getting eliminated in the preliminaries in her pet event, 400 m hurdles.
Usha was certainly good at Asian levels and not certainly beyond that.
